Ten years ago I met my first German Shepherd, Barrett, at the shelter when I went to check out a different dog. He wasn't available for adoption, presumably because he didn't do too well on his evaluation. They let me foster him and a month later, allowed me to adopt him. He was fear aggressive, highly reactive, and apparently couldn't be contained by a fence. After a lot of training, consistency and proper structure in our household he turned out to be the absolute best dog. He was sweet, patient, and loved being loved on by his people. Barrett taught me more than I could have ever imagined about dogs.
Seven years ago, after owning, fostering and informally training dogs for nearly 15 years I decided to commit all of my focus on dog training. Under the mentoring of my dear friend Lindsay Ritter of Paws Then Play, I began contracting with the local SPCA to evaluate and assist in training dogs in their rescue with behavioral issues to help them become more adoptable. Two years, two more German Shepherds and two kids later, This Wild Pack was created.
I understand that every dog is unique and requires individualized training. I don't think one specific dog training style or tool is a guaranteed fit for every dog. For this reason I create custom training for every dog based on the temperament and personality of the dog and what works best for the family.
Every dog I work with is treated like family. Dogs in my board and train program receive the same care, time and attention as my personal dogs with a focus on building a relationship and connection with each dog (and their owner). For this reason I only take a very limited number of clients at a time.
I offer a wide range of services.
Let me know how I can best help you and I will get back to you as quickly as I can. I look forward to learning more about you and your dog!
